We all know growing as a family through the years is not always easy. Everyone needs support and guidance. We hope you get some hints and support from our conference and enjoy the socialising, meeting old friends and making new ones. We consider that all young people attending the conference are respected as peer delegates with age appropriate activities/work shops for them.

Schedule for the Weekend

FRIDAY EVENING

5.00 – 7.30pm – Welcome and Registration
7.45 – 8.15pm – Opening Ceremony
8.30 – 10.00pm – Ice Breaker Table Quiz
• Randomly mixed teams for 13yrs and upwards.

Youth Program
5.30 – 10.30pm – Program for young delegates under 13 yrs
6.30 – 7.30pm – Program for young delegates over 13yrs

9.00AM – LAUNCH OF CONFERENCE
9.30AM – PLENARY SESSION
Plenary Speaker: Catherine Ghent, Child Law Solicitor talking on children’s rights. Catherine will be pleased to answer questions afterwards pertaining to legislative changes effecting children’s rights. (Questions posted in advance will receive priority). We will also have adults who grew up in foster care and who ‘fostered’ as children of a foster family speak of their experiences.

Facilitated by Pearl Doyle HSE Adoption.
AM4: Alcohol and Drug awareness
Facilitated by HSE.
AM5: “Working together to meet the mental health needs of children in care”
Facilitated by Joan Cronin Principal Social Worker and Family Therapist in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Cork.
AM6: Life story work, practical tips for carer’s to help to build memories for children in care
Facilitated by Eoin O’Hanlon (Foster Carer).

• Limit of 80 Young Delegates.
• Full programme of events for young people (Under Supervision).
• 0 – 4 Age group in Crèche with games and activities.
• Age 13 upwards have choice of Saturday AM Workshop and activities.
• We would encourage young people to attend workshops being such an integral part of the
conference.
